Precarious - Thoughts on Making a Living as Glass Artists
Out of the Box completed! The Artwalk is Thursday night 6 to 9pm - Come see all one hundred at the Arts building! Ours is titled Precarious - Thoughts on Making a Living as Glass Artists: The precariously balanced urn, filled with shredded money, and the keys suggest the challenges of working together to successfully create glass art and a living, congruently. Our north Auburn studio is surrounded by trees which tie us to our natural world but also help us to appreciate our limited resources. We are very blessed to have the support of our community and Placer Arts!

Marshmallows, sausage and beer!
Quite a combination! Marshmallows and sausages toasted in the glass furnaces! We are celebrating not only Hannah's visit home but also Matt's return for Spring Break. He is the goblet master now and accomplished artist. We need his talent and muscle this week to finish some large pieces. What a fun evening! We'll have to do this again.

Keystone Thrust
Inspired by Red Rock Canyon in the Nevada Desert west of Las Vegas, this standing Uplift (51"H x 28"W) was named for the fault running under the canyon. We love the colors of that area! Last week it found a home with local art patrons, Dean Prigmore and Patrice Taylor. Dean knew right away the meaning of the name so this piece was meant for them!
